The Co-operative’s Research and Studies Program

The Programa de Estudos e Pesquisas em Cooperativismo congregate under-graduation and graduation students and professors from the Ribeirão Preto’s University of São Paulo Economics, Management and Accountancy College (FEA-RP/USP). |
We provide scientific, theoretic and applied basement by combining researches, debates and activities in association with entities related to co operatives in Brazil, including the Brazilian and the São Paulo State Co operative Associations, and to international co-operative researching groups.
The group develops many researches and studies based on Business Economics and Accountancy for co operatives, as well as special projects regarding the co operative sector in Brazil and Latin America.
We also offer master’s programs on co operative management and promote related events as the International Workshop of Co operative Trends, which will have its sixth edition just after the V Latin American Co-operative Research.

From August 06 to 08, 2008, before the VI International Workshop of Cooperative Trends will occur the V Latin American Cooperative Research Conference, organized by Latin American Co-operative Researchers Network and ICA Latin American Regional Committee on Co-operative Research. |
This Conference will have the presence of national and international researchers and will be an excellent opportunity to discuss diverse themes related to cooperatives, like:
- Business internationalization
- Co‑operative identity, values and governance
- Legislation, jurisprudence and accounting aspects
- Business efficacy and efficiency, innovation and experiences in co‑operative integration
- The State, economic blocks and co‑operatives
- Co‑operatives´ role in the fight against poverty, for the fair trade and dignified work
- Youth, education and co‑operatives
- The social picture organization and the co‑operative education
- Social and economic management of co‑operatives
The Conference theme, Cooperative movement, Transnationalization and Cooperative Identity in Latin America, will be discussed on panels with national and international professors, graduation students and cooperatives’ representative associations.
